About The Coffee
These coffee are grown in the steep and fertile area located 2000 metres above sea level in Yirgacheffe, which is a part of the Sidamo region in the southern Ethiopia.
The Yirgacheffe’s hills are heavily populated with 26 cooperatives, representing some 45,794 farmers and approximately 62,004 hectares of villages' growing (known as 'garden coffee'). Coffee is one of the main cash crops in the region, which covers from half a hectare to 1.5 hectares.
The main harvest in Ethiopia takes place in November and December across all of the country's growing regions. There are an average of 4 passes made during the harvest period and the last pass is used for the natural coffee.
