Notes:
Finca San Isabel is situated on 300 acres of high, but relatively level, fertile land near the town of San Cristóbal Verapaz. The farm is managed by Don Luis and his son - also named Luis (nicknamed ‘Wicho’), who are general and agricultural manager respectively.
Wicho spent 15 years of experimentation to develop an innovative pruning schedule to the farm, resulting in a highly reduced severity of coffee leaf lust’s impact on the plantation. The plants are pruned according to a five year cycle to minimize usage of chemical fertilizers and pest control.
